A quiet leafy woodland walk.

Foraging your land

I am a qualified forager with years of experience.

From work experience with a Foraged Banquet provider to attending many walks and workshops, and field practice. I also studied the uses of herbs, especially wild and indigenous to UK.

I run guided walks in South Devon. I am now offering the option to book a private foraging service for your land or garden, or at an accesible locale of your choosing, with the potential to travel.

Learn to connect with and understand the land where you live or work more deeply through relationship to wild food and wild plants.

Your Land Our Story

People are often surprised how much readily available food, herbs and useful products are already availlablle in the land they own. With no extra work you are often able to access high nutrient crops with no or extremely minimum input.

Essentially whether gardening or farming, most of the weeds you may be seeking to eradicate are useable foods, with a useage as a minature crop, wild edible, supplement and/or as a tool to increase biodiversity, which has many implications

I understand many people want to built a greater or deeper relationship with the land they are 'caretaking' as owners or managers but dont know where to start. Understanding the wild food populations on the land is a great way to build connection for you, your business and/or your family.

The Foraging Your Land service offers the opportunity for me to come to your property/garden/land and show you some of what wild plants are there, are useable and how. Whether a casual site walk around or a more in depth audit, unless you are already a professional forager, you are likely to learn a lot about what wild plants are there, their uses and how to appreciate them more.
We've been taught that 'weeds' are wrong or bad - the wrong plant in the wrong place. But really weeds are wonderful teachers, whether about soil quality or taste profiles, and great resources whether as herbs, foods or material.

I am a professional foraging practitioner. I teach Foraging and Nature Connection to small groups of people. I self published a book about Conscious Foraging in 2021, and also produced a set of educational Foraging cards.
I am accredited with the Forager's Association, which is the main and only widey recognised accreditation system for foragers in the UK.
I am quaified in Graphic Design to degree level, and I also work in garden maintenance and productive/regenerative gardening and land work.

Services
available

Let's work together!

Site walk around - I guide you and/or another round the site, indication useful plants and discussing how to manage/use them. We meet plant friends, delve into the ways to ID common plants, use them in different ways, preparation ideas, safety and sustainability.

This is a potentially eye opening and fascinating insight into the natural world often under our feet. I recommend spring, summer or autumn for this service.

Group Walk- a led wild food walk for a small group of people - up to 10 - whether your team, friends/family etc. Similar to the individual walks, but more social.

Professional foraging Audit - a thorough audit of your land through a foragers eyes - this involves visiting the land and mapping out what wild plants are there and where they are. Essentially I create a map that you are able to refer to over and over. I provide advise about what plants to use and how. I guide you to the plants and discuss them in detail.

Multi-season audit

- as above audit, but we would visit the land at different times of year - usually spring and autumn, as these are excellent foraging seasons, to obtain a thorough view of the land throughout the year.

Cultivation/site creation - setup regenerative systems to promote biodiversity, foraging plants and agro-ecology.

Bespoke - a range of services - planting, land management, recipes, products etc.

I am also able to produce a full colour book with maps and photographs specific to your land/area. Available to travel.
